“Essentially this means that human populations have a bigger negative impact than radiation”
This article was interesting, as it talks about all the wildlife that have come to flourish in the evacuated areas after the Chernobyl disaster. Though humans fled long ago, animals have come to thrive in what is considered one of the biggest truly wildlife sanctuaries in Europe. In thinking about everything we’ve talked about this semester and our definition of wildlife, the situation is rather ironic, and perhaps telling of the fact that no matter how badly we harm the Earth, it will always fight back and ultimately recover.
