7.8 Magnitude Earthquake strikes off the cost of Sumatra and Indonesia. It was due to a strike-slip fault in the Indo-Australia plate. It was reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was “500 miles southwest of the city at Padang, at a depth of about 15 miles”.
