Last week, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association released the story that 2015 was the hottest year on record, breaking the record previously held by 2014. In addition, 2015 was the hottest year by the largest margin ever recorded (0.29 degrees Fahrenheit).
If the earth were not warming, the odds of setting a new record in back-to-back years would be around 1 in 1,500. Of the 10 hottest years on record, all but one (1998) have occured in the 21st century.
