Salamanders live in or near water, or find shelter on moist ground. Typically found in brooks, creeks, ponds, and other moist locations such as under rocks. Some salamanders will migrate between water and soil for seasonal events like spawning. They are active at night and seek out cool and dark places to hide during the day.
I think the salamander-made huts should look like rocks considering they like to live under rocks. I want to start after spring break where hopefully the weather would be warm up to go out to the salamander swamp. I think once I see it I can decide what is important to do.
