The Happy Planet Index. Pretty self explanitory. Basically it measures human well being by “combining environmental impact with well being to measure the environmental efficiency with which country by country, people live long and happy lives.” The #1 ranking country on this index isn’t necessarily the happiest country in the world, but it shows that it is possible for nations to sucessfully convert natural resources into happy lives for their citizens. I thought this was an interesting concept, and the results were equally as impressive.
