Remote Controlled Pigeons

Scientists at the Shandong University of Science and Technology, in China, have created a remote controlled pigeon. The scientists stimulate various regions of the pigeon’s brain using electrodes implanted in the brain. Using the electrodes the researchers can command the birds to fly left and right or up and down. In 2005 the same group scientists preformed a similar experiment on mice. The scientists hope this technology will have practical uses in the future, but no specific uses were stated.
