Wildlife trade bans may be worsening trafficking of some species

There is now evidence that the suspense of the law on legal trade of wildlife is facilitating the illegal trade of these animals by booting prices and moving all commerce to the black markets. Most animals listed under CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) such as–tigers, elephants and rhinos–are suffering from this. AsiaCat thinks that in order to stop this from getting any worse, we should legalize commercial trade in some species.
