65 people were killed in an earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand and there were 120 people who had to be rescued from the rubble. People are discussing this to be one of the saddest days for the citizens of New Zealand. The tremor cause widespread damage as it occured at a shallow depth of 5 km or 3.1 miles during lunchtime on February 22nd. It was classified as a 6.3 magnitude earthquake and people described the damage and after effects of this earthquake to be far worse than the 7.1 magnitude earthquake on September 4th.
