This book was an awful read, well it was more of a textbook but it was not fun reading. I did not like the language used in this book. It was very complicated and used complex sentences. It would not be a book that I would just pick up and read all by myself. On the good side it had many interesting and insightful points in the first five chapters. On the very first page I like the quote saying that the word nature is one of the most complex words in the English language. I liked this because it made me really think about the word and how many other meanings there can be. It actually put me into a deep thought, and is one of the rare moments I get while reading. I also liked the fact that poets in the late 18th and early 19th century made our version of nature today, with their insightful writings and making it more visual to us. Next, I found that the ancient romans clogged the streets with garbage and waste from the resources they had. Also how it said every life form has a soul, I am not very religious but I believe this because went I chop down trees or rip up vegetation I kinda get the sense of “sorryness” towards it. This was all interesting to me but it was a very hard read for me.
