So apprently, there is a town in Germany that is going to be the first place in the world to be use horse and cow manure as green energy upon launching a Biogas network this year. This poo will provide 90,000 residents of the town with cheap and sustainable energy. It is being said that this Biogas network will be able to provide for 30-40% of the towns heat and electrical needs. This energy is produced when spoiled crops from local farms and animal ‘slurry’ are fed into heat tanks, where natural fermentation breaks down into methane and carbon dioxide (the same basic ingredients as natural gas).
