My initial response to How to be Idle was fairly negative. He seemed to be on a cyclic rant, criticizing the status quo without offering solutions. As I read on, I realized that it was his intention to present the material in an relatively preposterous manor, to stimulate thought. I cannot say that I agree with Hodgkinson about much, he seems relatively lazy to me, but I can respect his critique of modern civilization as an interesting work of satire.
