I found this reading to be very interesting in a sense of how in such a booming city, we overlook the outskirts of town. After reading Meadowlands, my question is: With Robert Sullivan raising this awareness of the place- what hasĀ come of the lands? He states in the 70s the amount of garbage in meadowlands could fill the entire Gaint’s stadium. In the 21st century- what progress has been made of cleaning up theses lands?

The story of the Meadowlands is poignant. There is still time to save some of it. See http://www.motherjones.com/photos/meadowlands/ for an essay and some pictures from the Lutz/Sullivan book.
